How do I choose lighting for a small room?
Start with the surface or corner you want to light. Measure the available width and height, including the shade and base. A compact table light may suit a side table, while a wall fixture requires a suitable mounting location. Compare the exact product dimensions before choosing.
Can a decorative lamp replace my main room light?
A decorative light can add a softer pool of light, but it may not provide enough illumination for a whole room or detailed work. Use the stated output and intended use of the selected model. Do not judge brightness from a styled photograph.
How do I check that a floor lamp will fit?
Measure the floor space, the available height and the full reach of any curved arm. Leave room for doors, walkways and furniture. The base and shade can extend beyond the stem, so check all listed dimensions rather than height alone.
